Yoshitaka Amano To Attend Anime Expo 2016

Next year, fans will be able to meet the man, the artist, and the legend all at once!

Earlier today, Anime Expo announced that artist Yoshitaka Amano will attend next year’s event as a guest. Amano will host a panel, as well as autograph sessions through the event.

Though Amano has attended numerous North American conventions, this will be his Anime Expo appearance.

Yoshitaka Amano is a prominent artist, best known for his original creation, Vampire Hunter D, as well as his work on the Final Fantasy video game series. He was hired by the animation department at Tatsunoko Productions in 1967, with his first project being Speed Racer. Amano served as a character designer for a number of major titles, including Time Bokan and Gatchaman before going independent in 1982.

Since then, Amano has gone on to become a prominent artist and creator, with his paintings being hosted in galleries across the globe. He’s worked on numerous collaborations with other artists, including a 2000’s Sandman: The Dream Hunters, which saw Amano working with Neil Gaiman.
