Spreading the word of manga, one library at a time!
Earlier this week, Kodansha Advanced Media announced that they will offer Kodansha Comics’ titles in public libraries across the United States and Canada. The company will offer over 400 books across 50 titles in eBook format, via digital media provider OverDrive.
The additions are being offered through a distribution contract between Kodansha Advanced Media and eBook distributor MediaDo. Last year, MediaDo partnered with OverDrive, in order to offer more Japanese content across the globe.
Kodansha Advance Media General Manger Alvin Lu offered comment, stating:
Manga and libraries have always been a great fit, because of the crossover with younger readers, and because of the amount of manga out there, digital distribution through libraries presents great opportunities to build readership […] Very exciting to finally make our graphic-novel digital editions available to young readers through libraries in North America, with smart, savvy partners like MediaDo and OverDrive.
