It’s time to get this Super-Dimension Fortress off the ground!
Earlier today, the official Macross Delta anime website started streaming a new commercial. The advertisement, which promotes the upcoming New Year’s Eve preview special, offers a brief preview of the song Ikenai Borderline (Unreachable Borderline) by in-series idol group Walküre.

Macross Delta is the latest entry into the long-running Macross franchise. The series is being directed by Kenji Yasuda (Noein – to your other self) at Satelight, with series creator Shoji Kawamori serving as chief director. The team of Majiro (Barakamon) and Yuu Shindou (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) will provide character designs for the project, while also serving as chief animation directors. Toshizo Nemoto (Log Horizon) will supervise and provide scripts.
Minori Suzuki, who recently won the Macross singer auditions from Aichi Prefecture, will play the role of Freyja Wion. Freyja is a member of the “Tactical Sound Unit” Walküre, who do battle against the malevolent Var Syndrome.
