Ni no Kuni fans, your wait is over!

Earlier today, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that role playing game Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is in the works. The title is being developed for Sony’s PlayStation 4 by Level-5. Studio Ghibli animator Yoshiyuki Momose (Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies) has signed on to the project as character designer, while composer Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) will provide the game’s score. Series creator Akihiro Hino (Professor Layton, Yo-Kai Watch) will return to write the plot and serve as General Director.

A two-and-a-half minute trailer was released to promote the title:

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is the sequel to 2013’s Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn (Nintendo DS) and 2011’s Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (PlayStation 3). Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was released in the United States and Europe in 2013.
