D.Gray-man fans, today is your lucky day!

Earlier today, Shueisha announced that a new D.Gray-man anime series is in the works. The series will hit the airwaves in 2016, though a specific season wasn’t specified. A stage event dedicated to the series will be held at Anime Japan 2016, which will be held in March.

Shueisha launched the show’s official website, which includes a key visual and a promotional video for the project.

Ayumu Murase (Show By Rock!!, The irregular at magic high school) will play the role of Allen Walker in the new adaptation, while Shinnosuke Tachibana (Kamisama Kiss, Gundam Build Fighters) was cast as Howard Link.

D.Gray-man is based on Katsura Hoshino’s manga of the same name. The ongoing title currently runs in Jump SQ.Crown, and spans 24 volumes. A 103-episode anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired from October 2006 through September 2008. Osamu Nabeshima (Yowamushi Pedal) directed the title with Nana Harada, who served as chief director for 89 episodes. Hideyuki Morioka (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei) provided character designs, while Reiko Yoshida (Bakuman, Girls und Panzer) wrote the scripts.
