Winter break is over, and class is ready to begin!
Earlier today, the official Assassination Classroom anime website updated with a new promotional video. The two-and-a-half minute teaser introduces the show’s main cast members, with the show’s opening and ending themes serving as background tracks.
The show’s opening theme, Question, was performed by actors Mai Fuchigami (Nagisa), Aya Suzaki (Kaede), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Karma), Ryota Ohsaka (Yūma), and Shintarō Asanuma (Hiroto) under the name “3-nen E-gumi Utatan” (“Class 3-E Song Committee”). The ending theme, Kaketa Tsuki (The Waning Moon) is performed by Shion Miyawaki.
Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!) is returing to direct the new season of Assassination Classroom at studio Lerche. Makoto Uezu (Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Is This a Zombie?) returned to provide the show’s scripts, with Kazuaki Morita (Fate/Prototype, Arpeggio of Blue Steel) reprising his role as character designer.
Assassination Classroom will return to Japanese TV on January 7, 2016. Fuji TV and Kansai TV will air the series, with other networks to be announced later. Episodes will hit streaming services, including Fuji TV On Demand, three days after they air on TV.
The first season of Assassination Classroom debuted on January 9, and ran for 22 episodes. FUNimation currently holds the rights to the series, and offers it on the company’s streaming platform.
