Macross Delta Premiere Schedule, Voice Cast Announced

Earlier today, the Macross Delta Preview Special aired on Japanese TV. The star attraction of the special was an early version of the show’s first episode, followed by Shoji Kawamori’s announcement that the full series will air in the Spring 2016 broadcast season.

The special also confirmed that Saeko Suzuki (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne, Sgt. Frog), TOMISIRO (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne), and Mina Kubota (Kaleido Star, Kannazuki no Miko) will collaborate on the show’s soundtrack.

Last week, the first epsiode of Macross Delta was screened to members of the Macross Fan Club. Both screenings showed “version 0.89” of the episode, titled Prologue to the Battlefield (Senjō no Prologue). The episode contains a full cast list, albeit in an alien language. Using confirmed actress Minori Suzuki (who plays Freyja Wion) as a cipher, fans were able to decode the remaining cast members:

Macross Delta Visual 001 - 20151029Macross Delta is the latest entry into the long-running Macross franchise. The series is being directed by Kenji Yasuda (Noein – to your other self) at Satelight, with series creator Shoji Kawamori serving as chief director. The team of Majiro (Barakamon) and Yuu Shindou (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) will provide character designs for the project, while also serving as chief animation directors. Toshizo Nemoto (Log Horizon) will supervise and provide scripts.
