Last night, millions tuned in on Japanese TV to watch NHK’s annual Kōhaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Battle). The event brings many of the year’s top acts together, divides them into teams (Red & White), and urges contestants to sing their hearts out for a panel of judges.

This year, μ’s waved the banner for the Red Team, along with 24 other participants that included idol super-groups AKB48, NMB48, Perfume. For their entry, μ’s performed Love Live! season 2 opening Sore wa Bokutachi no Kiseki.

The group went all-out. The performance was preceded by a new animated introduction by Sunrise, and the costumes were superb recreations of their animated counterparts.

You can check the full performance out below. μ’s, Music Start!

Also worth noting is Arashi’s superb performance, which opened with the Star Wars theme, and burst into a medley of their biggest hits.

Perfume weren’t slouches this year either, though, with a fantastic presentation for Pick Me Up.
