It looks like 2016 is starting with a bang for FUNimation!
Earlier today, FUNimation announced that they will revamp their digital platform. The company will relaunch their service in February under the name FunimationNow. In a first for the distributor, FunimationNow will open its doors to customers in the United Kingdom once FunimationNow goes live.
As part of the relaunch, Funimation will also release new digital apps for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Windows 10. Redesigned apps for iOS, Android, and Kindle will also hit during the February launch window.
A new website, as well as updated game console and Roku apps will roll out in May.
FUNimation is partnering with Sony DADC New Media Solutions, who are providing their Ven.ue Cloud Playout system. The two companies are currently offering a demo of FunimationNow to attendees of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Los Vegas, Nevada.
