Moon pride… or Uranus, or Saturn, or even Neptune!
The latest issue of Animedia magazine features a new visual for Sailor Moon Crystal. While the image is in black and white, it gives a first look at Outer Guardians Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn.
Sailor Moon Crystal made its début on Japanese streaming service NicoNico in July 2014. During its initial run, new episodes aired on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The show’s TV broadcast wrapped up earlier today, which was followed directly by the new season’s reveal.
The show’s third season, which begins airing this spring, will revolve around the Death Busters arc of the Sailor Moon manga. The new arc brings Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn into the fold, as well as Mistress 9 and the malevolent Death Busters organization.
Chiaki Kon (Junjo Romantica) will replace Munehisa Sakai, who directed the first two seasons. Akira Takahashi (Smile PreCure) will replace Yukie Sakou as character designer on the project. Series writer Yuji Kobayashi will return to take charge of series composition.
The actors for Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn will be unveiled during the Nico Nico Live! streaming program on January 27.
