Another title is retreating from the Funimation front.
Earlier today, Funimation announced that their streaming rights for Baccano! are expiring. The company will take down the show’s site, as well as all videos related to the property on February 8, 2016.
Baccano! is based on Ryohgo Narita’s light novel of the same name. The series, which debuted in the Summer 2007 broadcast season, was directed by Takahiro Omori (Hell Girl, Princess Jellyfish) at Brain’s Base. Takahiro Kishida (Durarara!!, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) provided character designs on the project, while Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Attack on Titan) wrote the scripts.
Currently, Funimation offers Baccano! on their digital platform, YouTube, and Hulu. The series is also available for purchase on Sony’s PlayStation Store.
Aniplex of America released the series on Blu-Ray in 2011, which carried a retail price of $69.98. The release received a re-issue in 2012. Funimation’s DVD release of the show is currently available for purchase from online retailers.
