Guarded by Neptune, planet of the deep blue sea, the Outer Guardians are here to save the day!
Earlier today, the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal anime staff unveiled several new voice cast members for the show’s third season. The series will feature the following:
- Haruka Tenou (Sailor Uranus): Junko Minagawa
- Michiru Kaioh (Sailor Neptune): Sayaka Ohara
- Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn): Yukiyo Fujii
- Kaolinite: Hikari Yono
- Professor Tomoe: Takuya Kirimoto
- Pharaoh 90: Takaya Hashi
- Mimete: Yuki Nagaku
- Eudial: Chiaki Takahashi
- Viluy: Rina Hon’izumi
- Tellu: Naomi Ōzora
- Cyprine: Umeka Shouji
The cast was unveiled at a Nico Nico Live streaming event, which aired earlier today. Junko Minagawa, Sayaka Ohara, and Usagi actress Kotono Mitsuishi all appeared as guests on the program.
In addition, the team announced that an art exhibition, titled “The Exhibition of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon,” will be held from April 16 through June 19 at the Tokyo City View’s Sky Gallery. Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi is creating new artwork fo the show, which will also feature anime artwork.
A stage program for Sailor Moon Crystal will be held at AnimeJapan 2016. The show, which is planned for March 26, will reveal new information on the third season, as well as a new project.
Sailor Moon Crystal debuted on Japanese streaming platform NicoNico in July 2014. During its initial run, new episodes aired on the first and third Saturdays of each month. show’s TV broadcast wrapped up on January 10, which was directly followed by the new season’s reveal.
The third season, which kicks off this spring, will revolve around the “Death Busters” arc of the Sailor Moon manga. The new arc brings Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn into the fold, as well as Mistress 9 and the malevolent Death Busters organization.
Chiaki Kon (Junjo Romantica) is replacing Munehisa Sakai, who directed the first two seasons. Akira Takahashi (Smile PreCure) will take over for Yukie Sakou as character designer on the project. Series writer Yuji Kobayashi will return to take charge of series composition.
Viz Media currently holds the rights to both Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal in North America.
