Psycho-Pass: The Movie Dub Trailer Hits The Web

Worry not, citizens. Unit One is on the case!

Earlier this week, Funimation released a new trailer for Psycho-Pass: The Movie. The 90-second teaser offers a brief sample of the film’s English dub.

Psycho-Pass: The Movie is a sequel to Psycho-Pass 2. The film was helmed by Naoyoshi Shiotani (Blood+, Psycho-Pass) and Chief Director Katsuyuki Motohiro (Psycho-Pass) at Production I.G. The team of Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) and Makoto Fukami (Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass) wrote the screenplay, while Yuugo Kanno (Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Gundam Reconguista in G) scored the soundtrack. The team of Kouji Aoki, Kyoji Asano (Attack on Titan), and Naoyuki Onda (Berserk: The Golden Age, Ergo Proxy) provided character designs.

Psycho-Pass The Movie Visual 001 - 20160206Funimation describes the film as:

In a futuristic Japan, the Sibyl System is charged with keeping the peace. Using extensive surveillance and biological monitoring to gauge the likelihood that individuals will commit a crime, the police are able to use weapons called Dominators to remove potential criminals from the population before they become a problem. Confident with the success of the System within their own borders, the Japanese government has begun to export the technology to other countries, planning to ultimately spread the System across the globe.

When the state of SEAUn brings the Sibyl System in to test its effectiveness, it becomes a haven of peace and safety—for a time. Eventually, terrorists from SEAUn begin appearing in Japan, somehow slipping through the System’s security and attacking from within. Desperate for answers, Inspector Akane Tsunemori is sent overseas to bring the terrorists to justice. But when her investigation forces her into a standoff with an old ally, will she be able to pull the trigger?

The film’s dub stars the following:

  • Akane Tsunemori: Kate Oxley
  • Nicholas Wong: Jason Liebrecht
  • Nobuchika Ginoza: Josh Grelle
  • Shion Karanomori: Lydia Mackay
  • Desmond Rutaganda: Major Attaway
  • Shinya Kogami: Robert McCollum
  • Dominator: Stephanie Young
  • Shō Hinakawa: Z. Charles Bolton
  • Mika Shimotsuki: Cherami Leigh
  • Yayoi Kunizuka: Lindsay Seidel
  • Jouji Saiga: Michael Federico
  • Teppei Sugo: Mike McFarland

Zach Bolton directed the dub, which features a script written by Alex Muniz, Jared Hedges, and Joel Bergen.

Psycho-Pass: The Movie will get a theatrical run on the weekend of March 15. The film will screen in over 100 theaters across the United States and Canada. Funimation will sell tickets on their website starting February 18.
