Win A Pair of Tickets to Wagakki Band’s March 14th Concert In New York!

On Monday, March 14th Wagakki Band will be performing at Irving Plaza. Just typing those words makes me happy. You may remember I interviewed them back at Anime Expo, and reviewed their first US concert. I closed the review with this:

I’ve gotta tell you, I’d love to see them again in New York City, and a major US Tour is one of their dreams.

March 14th will see that dream will become a reality.

Wagakki Band is touring in support of their second album, Yasou EmakiThe single Akatsuki no Ito suggests that this album will have a little bit of a harder edge than their debut work, while opening track Ikusa promises a bit more mysticism:

It’s unclear if the dragon successfully cleared customs. In other news, check out Yūko’s flower hat forty seconds into the video for Hangeki no Yaiba:

If they sell reproductions of it at the concert, I’m buying one.

The venue is a special one, as Irving Plaza is a hallowed name in NY history. It came in eighth overall in Complex’s rankings of the top 50 concert halls in America. It was a staple in the punk rock scene back in the 80’s, with regular visits from Talking Heads and The Ramones. It’s also where Paul McCartney played his surprise (announced the day of on Twitter) Valentine’s Day show last year. It’s a fantastic venue, on par with the Fillmore out in San Francisco.

Tickets for the show are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. You can also pick up VIP passes for $75, which includes a poster of the band, as well as the traditional VIP perks.

It’s going to be a great show and I hope to see some of you there. In fact, I insist. Anime Herald is going to give away five pairs of tickets to the show. All you have to do is enter our contest by filling out the form below.
