New Cast Members Announced For Rin-Ne Season 2

Last night, the official Rin-Ne (Kyōkai no Rinne) anime website announced several members joining the show’s voice cast in the upcoming season. Four new roles were unveiled:

  • Oboro: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Suzu: Suzuko Mimori
  • Shoma: Yuko Sanbe
  • Kurosu: Akira Ishida

The four players join the cast members returning from the show’s first season, including:

  • Rinne Rokudou: Kaito Ishikawa
  • Sakura Mamiya: Marina Inoue
  • Rokumon: Hitomi Nabatame
  • Tamako: Satsuki Yukino
  • Sabato Rokudou: Kappei Yamaguchi

Rin-Ne is based on Rumiko Takahashi’s manga of the same name. The series premiered on Japanese TV on April 4, 2015 and currently spans 25 episodes. Seiki Sugawara (D-Frag!) is directing the title at Brain’s Base, while Kazuhiko Tamura (Gunparade Orchestra) provides character designs.

Rin-Ne will return to Japanese TV on April 9, 2016 at 5:30PM local time.  Episodes will air on NHK’s E-Tele network.

In North America, Sentai Filmworks currently holds the domestic rights to the show, while Viz maintains the manga license. Sentai describes Rin-Ne as follows:

Kyokai no Rinne is a genre bending supernatural comedy depicting the story of Sakura Mamiya, who is suddenly able to see ghosts after a mysterious disappearance into the woods in her childhood. One day, the normally empty desk next to her at school is filled by a new classmate named Rinne Rokudo, changing her life forever.

Crunchyroll streamed the show as it aired in Japan.
