Sinbad’s ready to take one last journey on the high seas.
Yesterday, the official Sinbad anime film website updated with a new trailer for its third and final film, titled Sinbad. The 105-second teaser reveals that the feature will début in Japanese theaters on May 14. In addition, the trailer reveals that whiteeeen’s Pocket will again be ued as the theme song for the project.
A new visual for the film was also released yesterday, which you can check out below.
Nippon Animation is working with studio Shirogumi to produce the film as part of Nippon Animation’s 40th anniversary. Shinpei Miyashita was tapped to direct, while Yoshiharu Sato (My Neighbor Totoro, Only Yesterday) handles the film’s character designs. Hiroyuki Kawasaki (Ronja The Robber’s Daughter) is writing the script.
The confirmed voice cast includes:
- Sinbad: Tomo Muranaka
- Sana: Momoko Tanabe
- Ali: Nao Nagasawa
- Latifa: Hiroko Yakushimaru
- Captain Razak: Takeshi Kaga
The Sinbad films are the first movies that Hiroko Yakushimaru performed in since 1985’s Toward the Terra.
The first film, Sinbad: The Flying Princess and the Secret Island, hit Japanese theaters in July 2015. Its sequel, Sinbad: The Magic Lamp and the Moving Island opened on January 16.
