Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends Delayed Indefinitely

Rage of Bahamut Manaria Friends Visual 001 - 20160308I could make a cute pun on this one, but let’s face it: this news sucks.

Earlier today, the official Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends anime website announced that the series was delayed from its April 1 première “due to various circumstances.” The website and the show’s Twitter account will reveal a final broadcast schedule when details become available.

The site also notes that a final première date hasn’t been determined, and the show’s staff was de-listed. The previously planned screening event on March 20 was officially cancelled.

Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends would have been a sequel to 2014 series Rage of Bahamut: Genesis. The title was to be directed by Takafumi Hoshikawa(Happy Lesson, Excel Saga), who was also in charge of series composition. Megumi Ishihara(Fate/stay night) was in charge of character designs, while serving as chief animation director. Takashi Watanabe(Full Metal Panic!) was scoring the soundtrack, and Kenichi Kurata was serving as art director.

The previously confirmed voice cast included:

  • Grea: Ayaka Fukuhara
  • Anne: Yōko Hikasa
  • Heinlein: Chiharu Sawashiro
  • Miranda: Kikuko Inoue
  • Roux: Kimiko Koyama
  • Hanna: Nana Mizuki
  • Owen: Wataru Hatano
  • William: Yūma Uchida

The title would have adapted the Mysteria Academy(Manaria Mahō Gakuin) event from the Rage of Bahamut video game. It was scheduled to run as part of the Ultra Super Anime Time programming block.
