Viz Media Adds Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Terra Formars Anime

Earlier today, Viz Media announced that they acquired the domestic rights to both Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Terra Formars anime series. The company will stream all three existing seasons of Jojo, as well as the upcoming Diamond is Unbreakable. As of press time, no news is available on Viz’s plans for home video releases of either title.

Jojo Stardust Crusaders Key Visual 001 - 20150610Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is based on Hirohiko Araki’s manga series of the same name. The series made its TV anime début in 2012 with the 24-episode Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series. The Kenichi Suzuki served as Series Director on the project, with Naokatsu Tsuda (Inu X Boku Secret Service) working as director at David Production. Takako Shimizu (Sōsei no Aquarion Love) provided character designs, while Yasuko Kobayashi (Attack on Titan, Shakugan no Shana) took charge of series composition.

The team reunited in 2014, to work on the 48-episode Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. The fourth season of the show, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable will première on April 1.

Viz Media currently holds the rights to the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series. Warner Brothers released the 2012 Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime on DVD in September 2015.

Terra Formars Visual 001 - 20160319Terra Formars is a 2014 adaptation of Yū Sasuga and illustrator Kenichi Tachibana’s manga of the same name. Hiroshi Hamasaki (Steins;Gate, Blade & Soul) directed the series at Liden Films, with Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon, Shigurui: Death Frenzy) and Satoshi Kimura providing character designs. Shogo Yasukawa was in charge of series composition.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is currently available in its entirety on Crunchyroll.
