Food Wars! Gets PVs For Upcoming Season 2 & OVA Debuts

The ultimate battle of umami is about to begin anew!

Yesterday, the official Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma anime website updated with a pair of new promotional videos. The first teaser promotes the upcoming second season, titled Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Ni no Sara (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Second Plate). The 90-second teaser confirms that the main cast and crew from the show’s first season will return to the project, as well as the season’s July première.

The second teaser is a 60-second preview for a new OVA, which will ship with the 19th collected volume of the Food Wars! manga. The 25-minute OVA will be bundled with the book when it hits stores on July 4.

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma adapts Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki’s manga of the same name. The series kicked off in April 2015, and ran for 24 episodes. Yoshitomo Yonetani (Nurse Witch Komugi, Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising-) directed the series at J.C. Staff, while Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman, Kiss×sis) provided character designs. Scripts were provided by Shinichi Inotsume and Shogo Yasukawa.
