On Saturday, mobile game developer Cygames announced that they will establish an anime studio. The company, which will open in the early half of 2016, will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cygames.

The new company will absorb the duties of its previously established anime production division, taking on the planning and producing duties while bringing the actual production duties in-house.

The studio will be established in Tokyo’s Mitaka ward. The company is accepting staff applications. The job description makes reference to both adaptations and original projects, though no specifics are noted.

Cygames opened for business in 2011. Since its establishment, the company has gone on to produce a number of major titles, including Rage of Bahamut, Granblue Fantasy, and IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls. Rage of Bahamut: Genesis, which is based on Rage of Bahamut, was funded directly by Cygames, which is a major departure from the standard production committee model.

Earlier this month, the Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends anime website announced that the series was delayed from its April 1 première “due to various circumstances.”
