It looks like Toonami’s joining Gon in his journey to find the greatest hunter ever!
Last night, Adult Swim announced that Toonami will air the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime series. The show will première on the block on April 16, at 1:00AM Eastern.
The 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime was the second adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi’s long-running manga series. Hiroshi Koujina helmed the show at Madhouse, with Takahiro Yoshimatsu providing character designs. The series premiered in October 2011, and ran for 148 episodes.
Earlier this month, Viz Media unveiled the show’s English dub cast. The series, which is being dubbed by Bang Zoom!, will star the following:
- Gon Freecss: Erica Mendez
- Killua Zoldyck: Cristina Vee
- Leorio: Matthew Mercer
- Hisoka: Keith Silverstein
- Kurapika: Erika Harlacher

Viz also holds the domestic rights to the Hunter x Hunter manga and its 1999 TV adaptation.
