Like a tumultuous breeze, life can take us in unexpected directions.
Earlier today, the Kaze no Yō ni (Like the Wind) anime film staff announced that the feature will receive a limited theatrical run. The feature will be shown at Shimokitazawa’s Tollywood Theater on July 9.
Kaze no Yō ni is based on Tetsuya Chiba’s one-shot manga of the same name. The film is being helmed by Toshiyuki Honda at Ekura Animal, with Chie Hidono writing the script. Masatsune Noguchi is serving as animation director on the project, while Kou Nakagawa composes the soundtrack.

Tetsuya Chiba launched a crowdfunding campaign for the film on February 22, 2016. The feature reached its funding goal of 2 million yen ($18,667.69 USD) by March. The film raised nearly 3.5 million yen ($32,671.96) by its April completion date. Chiba will appear at a special event to commemorate the film in May. Campaign backers who donated 200,000 yen ($1,867.32 USD) will receive priority access to the event.
