It looks like Daisuki’s stepping up their game!
Earlier today, Anime Consortium Japan (ACJ, henceforth) announced that they will launch a paid subscription service. The consortium will officially launch the service later this summer with a monthly cost of $5. The program will be limited to users in the United States at first, but ACJ aims to expand across the globe.
Daisuki’s subscription service will offer access to simulcast streams for select ongoing titles, while free members will be delayed a week. In addition, subscribers will receive a lower number of advertisements and access to older titles. The representatives at Daisuki’s Anime Expo panel promised “other special, member-exclusive goodies,” but declined to discuss specifics.
The initial list of premium simulcasts includes:
- The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
- Love Live! Sunshine!!
- Planetarian
- Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars
- Sca-red Rider XechS
- Tales of Zestiria the X
- Time Travel Girl
- Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION
THe initial lineup of older shows that will be offered to premium members includes:
- Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene
- Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
- Mobile Suit Gundam SEED
- Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny
- Round Vernian Vifam (Ginga Hyōryū Vifam)
- Vegetable Fairies N.Y. Salad (Yasai no Yōsei – N.Y. Salad)
All of the catalog shows, save Vegetable Fairies N.Y. Salad, will be available through August 31.
ACJ will reveal more details on Daisuki’s streaming service later this week. The company will open a beta service on July 8, which will lead up to the program’s official launch.
