Naria Girls Visual 001 - 20160706Truth be told, I’m hoping it looks more like the visual than the preview once the show premieres.

Earlier today, Crunchyroll announced that they will stream Naria Girls (Mahō Shōjo? Naria Girls) as part of their summer simulcast lineup. As of press time, neither a specific preview time nor applicable regions have been unveiled.

Naria Girls is an original series from studio Bouncy. The project is being helmed by Kōtarō Ishidate (Q Transformers: Kaettekita Convoy no Nazo, Minarai Diva), who is directing and tackling series composition. Okazu Misoyama is in charge of character designs.

The series is notable, as it’s being produced using live-animation software “Kigurumi Live Animator” (KiLA).

The confirmed cast includes:

  • Urara: Seria Fukagawa
  • Hanabi: Aoi Koga
  • Inaho: Yuuki Kuwahara
  • Animaru: Kotaro Ishidate

Crunchyroll describes Naria Girls as:

The title “NariaGirls” is a Japanese pun for “Nariagaru” (rising in the world). The story centers on three girls: Urara, Hanabi and Inaho, who decide to make an anime series by themselves to become nationally popular characters. The theme that they choose to gain broad popularity from children to adult anime fans is “Magical Girl.” Will they be able to produce a one-cour magical girl anime successfully and become popular characters?

A 13-minute “Rehearsal” promo video was released to promote Naria Girls on June 24. You can check it out below:
