Voltron: Legendary Defender Gets Second Season In 2016

Voltron force, activate for another season!

Earlier today, the Voltron: Legendary Defender team revealed that the show will receive a second season. The new season will kick off later this year, though a specific première date has yet to be announced, aside from a vague “late 2016.”

The crew broke the news at their Voltron panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

When asked about use of the original Voltron music, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery revealed that, due to legal rights, they can’t use the tracks.

Voltron: Legendary Defender is a co-production between Netflix and DreamWorks. The project will reboot the classic anime adaptation, which originally hit the airwaves in 1984. Studio Mir, which is best known for its work on Legend of Korra, animated the project.

The first season was released in its entirety on June 10. Netflix released a pair of teaser trailers to promote the series, which you can check out below.
