Kickstarter For Osamu Tezuka Digital Trading Card Game Blasts Off

Careful! You just triggered Astro Boy’s Trap Card!

Earlier today, Active Gaming Media launched a new Kickstarter for a digital collectible card game. The game, titled Astro Boy: Edge of Time, will be based on the works of Osamu Tezuka, and overseen by Macoto Tezka.

The game will feature cards with Tezuka’s characters, which have been redesigned by modern artists. Confirmed contributors include:

  • Hiroshi Matsuyama (CyberConnect2 President)

Active Gaming Media released three sample card, which Magma, Saburota, and Dr. Ochanomizu. You can check these out below:

Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) and electronic dance music pioneer Giovanni Giorgio Moroder will score the title’s soundtrack.

Active Gaming Media hopes to raise $50,000 by September 21. As of press time, the campaign has raised $2,800 across 60 backers, with an average contribution of $46.67 per contributor.

The title will include single-player and online multiplayer modes. A demo is currently available via the Kickstarter page. Reward tiers include:
