Trigger Streams New Anime Short To Celebrate 5th Anniversary


Has it been five years already? Man, how time flies!

Over the weekend, NicoNico streamed a marathon of Trigger’s Space Patrol Luluco anime series. The showing ended with a brand-new short from the studio.

The 30-second video, which celebrates the company’s 5th anniversary, features company mascots Trigger, Muzzle, and Spring. Trigger later took to Twitter to confirm that Teddyloid composed the music for the piece.

Rough Translation: Thanks very much for watching our [Space Patrol] Luluco marathon! We were finally able to celebrate our fifth anniversary with a surprise stream of the Trigger-chan short! THe video features a new theme by Luluco ED composer Teddyloid!

Hiroyuki Imaishi and Masahiko Otsuka officially founded Trigger on August 22, 2011. Since its founding, the company has produced ten full anime titles:

  • Inferno Cop (2012 – 2013)
  • Little Witch Academia (2013)
  • Kill la Kill (2013 – 2014)
  • When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace (2014)
  • Japan Animator Expo (Denkō Chōjin Gridman, Sex & Violence with Machspeed, Bureau of Proto Society, Power Plant No.33) (2015)
  • Ninja Slayer From Animation (2015)
  • Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade (2015)
  • Kiznaiver (2016)
  • Space Patrol Luluco (2016)

A Little Witch Academia TV series is currently in the works, though a specific première date is unknown. Netflix will stream the title in North America.

Trigger has also handled several work-for-hire projects, including the opening animation for Project X-Zone and the anime sequences in Fire Emblem Fates.
