Crunchyroll To Simulcast “Occultic;Nine” and “March Comes in Like a Lion” In Fall 2016 Lineup


March may come in like a lion, but… it’s October.

Earlier today, Crunchyroll announced that they will add Occultic;Nine and March Comes In Like A Lion to their Fall 2016 simulcast lineup. Both shows are slated to première on October 8 for subscribers in the following regions:

  • North America
  • Central America
  • South America
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland

Occultic;Nine is based on a light novel series by MAGES. head Chiyomaru Shikura (Steins;Gate). Kyōhei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April, Lance ‘n’ Masques) is directing the project at A-1 Pictures, with Tomoaki Takase (Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend) providing character designs. Studio Mages (Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness, B-PROJECT) is in charge of series composition. Aniplex is producing the project.

Occultic;Nine hits Crunchyroll on October 8, at 9:30AM Pacific (12:30PM Eastern). They describes the show as:

Yuta Gamon is a 2nd year in high school. He runs “Kiri Kiri Basara,” an affiliate blog that rounds up occult forum posts, for a shot at quick money, and challenges himself to the occult night and day to “hack and slash away!” the many supernatural phenomena existing in the world from a scientific standpoint.

However, with that blog of his as a catalyst, a group of downright maniacal and insane comrades have gathered about.

March Comes In Like A Lion is based on Chika Umino’s manga of the same name. The series will be helmed by Akiyuki Shimbo (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Hidamari Sketch, Monogatari series) at SHAFT, with character designs by Nobuhiro Sugiyama (Nisekoi, Arakawa Under the Bridge). Yukari Hashimoto (Penguindrum, Toradora!) is scoring the show’s soundtrack.

Crunchyroll will start streaming March Comes In Like a Lion on October 8, at 10:00AM Pacific (2:00PM Eastern). They describe the series as:

This is a gentle tale about people trying to regain something.

And it is a tale of battle.

The main character, Rei Kiriyama, lost his family in an accident when he was young. Now he is a 17-year-old pro shogi player who is burdened with deep loneliness. Rei lives alone in an old town in Tokyo, but after becoming acquainted with three sisters, Akari, Hinata and Momo, he begins to change little by little…
