Funimation Adds “Scrapped Princess” Anime

Life is full of second chances, and Pacifica just got hers.

Funimation announced that they acquired the domestic rights to Scrapped Princess. The series will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 28, 2017.

The company made the announcement at this year’s YoumaCon convention.

Scrapped Princess is based on Ichiro Sakaki and illustrator Yukinobu Azumi’s light novel series of the same name. The show, which aired in the Spring 2003 broadcast season, was helmed by Soichi Masui (Chaika – The Coffin Princess, Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV) at Bones. Takahiro Komori (Darker than Black, Angelic Layer) took charge of character designs on the project, while Reiko Yoshida (Gad Guard, Kamisama Kazoku) wrote the scenario.

Bandai Entertainment originally released Scrapped Princess on DVD in North America. They produced a dub for the series, though it’s unknown whether Funimation will include this in their upcoming release.
