Scum’s Wish Gets First Promo Video & Cast Reveals


There are normal wishes, then there are the scummy wishes. A wish for a trailer definitely isn’t the latter, though!

Earlier today, the official Scum’s Wish (Kuzu no Honkai) anime website updated with a new promotional video. The teaser announces the main cast, while confirming a January 12 première.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Hanabi Yasuraoka: Chika Anzai
  • Mugi Awaya: Nobunaga Shimazaki
  • Sanae Ebato: Haruka Tomatsu
  • Noriko Kamomebata: Shiori Izawa
  • Narumi Kanai: Kenji Nojima
  • Akane Minagawa: Aki Toyosaki

The series will air as part of Fuji TV’s Noitamina block. Amazon holds the exclusive global digital rights to the title. They will stream the first episode on their Amazon Prime Video service on January 11.

Scum’s Wish adapts Mengo Yokoyari’s manga of the same name. Masaomi Ando (School-Live!, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse) will direct the series at Lerche, with Keiko Kurosawa (Re: Hamatora, Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle) proiding character designs. Makoto Uezu (Assassination Classroom Season 2, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is in charge of series composition.

Masaru Yokoyama (Your Lie in April, Plastic Memories) is scoring the soundtrack.

scums-wish-anime-visual-002-20161124Yen Press currently holds the domestic rights to Scum’s Wish. Crunchyroll offers the title on their digital platform, and describes it as:

Hanabi and Mugi are bathed in envious gazers from all around as a beautiful couple with excellent moral conduct. But these two apparently perfect people in an apparently perfect relationship share a secret they can’t tell anyone.
