Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga Features Female Characters In 3 New PVs

It’s time to meet a few familiar faces before we ship off to Kyoto.

On Friday, the official Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujō Ō-hen) anime website updated with three promotional videos. The two trailers (and one TV spot) characters Shiemi Moriyama and Izumo Kamiki.

The series will première in January, as part of MBS’s “Animeism” block.

Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga adapts the Kyoto Impure King arc of the Blue Exorcist manga, which began in the work’s fifth compiled volume. Koichi Hatsumi (Deadman Wonderland, Gangsta.) is helming the project at A-1 Pictures, replacing previous director Tensai Okamura. Keigo Sasaki (ERASED, The Seven Deadly Sins) will reprise their role as character designer, while Toshiya Ono (Gatchaman CROWDS) takes charge of series composition. Hiroyuki Sawano is returning to compose the show’s soundtrack with newcomer Kohta Yamamoto.

Aniplex of America  currently holds the rights to Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, and intends to stream the show as part of their Winter 2017 simulcast lineup. They describe the show as:

Assiah, the realm of humans, and Gehenna, the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but having possessed all material substances, the demons are now intruding on the material world. But among the human race, there are those who can exorcise such demons—the exorcists.

Rin Okumura kept the fact that he was Satan’s offspring a secret from everyone and decided to become an exorcist. He began his training at True Cross Academy but following the incidents involving Amaimon’s raid, his lineage became apparent. Fearing his true nature and the blue flames marking his connection to Gehenna, Rin’s classmates all distanced themselves from him. Meanwhile, the academy was on high alert when they realized that the “Left Eye of the Impure King” had been stolen! What lies ahead for Rin and his classmates?

A promotional video and TV spot were released to promote the season earlier this month. You can check them out below.

That Time I Saw Nagito Komaeda At Whole Foods

It isn’t unusual for me to see anime characters in my neighborhood. I live near a DC metro stop that’s crammed with hotels, so Anime USA and Blerdcon take place here. To be honest, that’s probably why I shouldn’t have been surprised to see Nagito Komaeda at Whole Foods. I was out of Dino Nuggets […]
