The digital diva’s ready to embrace the spirit of Taiko rhythms!
On Thursday, an official website and Twitter account opened to promote Hatsune Miku’s latest collaborative event. The virtual idol will partner with world-renowned taiko drum troupe Kodo for a series of special concerts.
NHK is hosting the shows as part of their “This is Nippon Premium Theater” concert series, which are intended to welcome the 2020 Olympics to Tokyo. NHK hopes to highlight and promote traditional Japanese culture, while showcasing it for audiences at home and abroad.
The concerts will be held at Tokyo’s NHK Hall, with showtimes as follows:
- 3/4/2016: 7:00PM
- 3/5/2016: 1:00PM
This is the first time that Miku’s partnered with a taiko group, and the shows will feature a new performance style.
