funimation-logo-20160908Sadly, such is the tradeoff of this year’s big content sharing deal.

Earlier today, Funimation announced the first titles whose subtitled streams will be removed from their FunimationNow platform. The following titles will be removed by December 7:

  • Cowboy Bebop (26 episodes)
  • D.Gray-man HALLOW (13 episodes)
  • First Love Monster (12 episodes)
  • Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash (12 episodes)
  • Psycho-Pass (Season 1, 22 episodes)
  • Puzzle & Dragons X (Season 1, 22 episodes)
  • A Certain Magical Index (Season 1, 24 episodes)
  • Assassination Classroom (Season 1, 22 episodes)
  • Barakamon (12 episodes)
  • Heroic Legend of Arslan (Season 1, 12 episodes ; Season 2, 13 episodes)
  • Ping Pong The Animation (11 episodes)

The removal is part of Funimation and Crunchyroll’s distribution agreement, which kicked off iin September. Through the deal, Crunchyroll will receive most subtitled content in Funimation’s library, while FunimationNow shifts to a dub-centric focus.

Funimation will announce dub plans for several titles that are in Crunchyroll’s stable, though they haven’t specified which titles are next in line to receive the dub treatment.
