We’re a bit late, but worry not. The great war still rages.
Last week, Media Blasters announced six new cast members for their upcoming English dub for World War Blue (Aoi Sekai no Chushin de). The following will join the show’s English cast:
- Zelik: Chris Niosi
- Fai: Amanda Lee
- Marcus: Mike Pollock
- Guligi: Mike Pollock
- Narrator: Kyle Hebert
- Karvey: Kira Buckland
Previously, Media Blasters confirmed five cast members:
- Gear: Matt Shipman
- Opal: Brittany Lauda
- Tejilof: Y. Chang
- Nel: Cait Page
- Lumses: Theresa Buchheister
Brittany Lauda is directing the dub, which features scripts by Chris Niosi. Kocha Sound is in charge of casting on the adaptation.
World War Blue adapts Anastasia Shestakova and illustrator Crimson’s manga of the same name. The series was helmed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin Empire, High School DxD) at studio 5th Avenue, with Maki Fujii (UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, I’ve Always Liked You) and Takeshi Kanda providing character designs. Crimson and Takao Fuso wrote the show’s scripts.
Media Blasters previously confirmed that they acquired the series, with plans to produce an English dub. Crunchyroll currently streams World War Blue on their digital platform. They describe the show as:
The Ninterudo Empire and the Segua Kingdom have been locked in a war for supremacy over the land of Consume for many years. The powerful Ninterudo Empire under the leadership of Marcus, with many excellent killers possessing various special abilities, has gained the upper hand in the struggle, occupying the majority of Consume as well as the surrounding nations. The Segua Kingdom has been left with no plausible option but to fight defensively… until the arrival of Gear drastically turns the tides.
