First Fate/Grand Order Anime TV Special PV Hits The Web

So, will we see a surprise appearance from Mysterious Heroine X?

Earlier today, the Fate/Grand Order team hosted a live streaming event. The program, titled Fate/Grand Order Caldea Station Vol. 4 Pre-Seventh Singularity Special, unveiled a new promotional video for the upcoming Fate/Grand Order: First Order- TV special. The 90-second teaser introduces the title’s overall premise, and confirms the title’s première date.

Fate/Grand Order: First Order- will air on December 31 at 10:00PM local time. The feature-length special will be shown on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11, as well as streaming network NicoNico.

Fate/Grand Order: First Order- is based on Type-Moon’s smartphone game of the same name. The Hitoshi Nanba (Heroman, Gosick) is directing the special at Lay-Duce, with Keisuke Goto (Yatterman Night) providing character designs. Ayumi Sekine (Watamote eps. 3, 6, 7, Flip Flappers ep. 4) wrote the show’s script.

The confirmed cast includes:

  • Ritsuka Fujimaru: Nobunaga Shimazaki
  • Kyrielight Mash: Rie Takahashi
  • Fou: Ayako Kawasumi
  • Romani Aakiman: Kenichi Suzumura
  • Olgamarie Animusufia: Madoka Yonezawa
  • Refu Rainōru: Tomokazu Sugita

Fate/Grand Order: First Order- is set in the year 2015, amid the final era where magic holds influence. Security and survival organization Caldea was established to keep watch on the two worlds that exist: one which can only be seen with magic, the other keenly observed by science. Ultimately, though, Caldea exists to protect humanity from Armageddon.

Thanks to the efforts of countless brilliant minds, humanity’s prosperity has been ensured for the next century. Without warning, though, the future of humanity simply vanished. Mankind was to go extinct in 2017.

The cause was traced to 2004, in the Japanese city of Fuyuki. There, it seems, an “unobservable realm” came to be that did not exist… until now.

With this knowledge in hand, Caldea issues the Grand Order for a “Holy Grail Expedition.” The organization is to investigate, unveil, and ultimately destroy the anomaly that may cause humanity’s ultimate demise.
