Viz Streams Extended Dub Teaser For Sailor Moon R: The Movie

Moon trailer power, make up!

Earlier today, Viz Media started streaming a new dubbed trailer for Sailor Moon R: The Movie (Sailor Moon R Movie: Promise of the Rose). The minute-long teaser gives a brief overview of the film’s concept.

Viz and Eleven Arts will partner to host a première gala on January 13. The event will kick off with a Q&A session with the film’s English dub cast and staff.

Following the première, Sailor Moon R: The Movie will screen in over 300 theaters across North America. The film will screen with original short Make Up! Sailor Guardians.

Sailor Moon R: The Movie is a sequel to the Sailor Moon R TV series. Series director Kunihiko Ikuhara (Revolutionary Girl Utena, Penguindrum) directed the feature at Toei Animation and TV Asahi, with Kazuko Tadano (Wedding Peach, Dancougar – Super Beast Machine God) providing character designs. Sukehiro Tomita (Ceres, Celestial Legend, Kimagure Orange Road) wrote the film’s screenplay.

The feature originally hit Japanese theaters in May 1993. Pioneer Entertainment released the feature in North America on DVD.
