Second Akiba’s Trip Anime PV Previews Opening Theme Song

Akiba’s been taken over by synthisters! Are you a bad enough dude to strip them all?

Earlier today, the official Akiba’s Trip – The Animation YouTube channel updated with a new promotional video. The 105-second teaser features a opening theme song Ikken Rakuchaku zu Yōjin as a background track.

Akiba’s Trip – The Animation will begin airing on Japanese TV on January 4, 2017.

Hiroshi Ikehata (Seiyu’s Life!, Robot Girls Z) was tapped to direct Akiba’s Trip at Gonzo, while Hajime Mitsuda (Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Steins;Gate) provides character designs. Kazuho Hyodo (ReLIFE, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE) is in charge of series composition.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Tamotsu Denkigai: Haruki Ishiya
  • Matome Manseika: Rie Takahashi
  • Niwaka Denkigai: Marika Kono
  • Arisa Ahokainen: Yuki Nagaku
  • Tasujin Ratu: Misaki Kuno
  • Kage-san: Jouji Nakata

Earphones (Iyahonz), a group composed of actors Rie Takahashi, Marika Kōno, and Yuki Nagaku, will perform opening theme song Ikken Rakuchaku zu Yōjin.

The show’s website describes the plot as:

Akihabara, an open community where everyone from beginners to masters are welcome. Even if you’re alone, you’ll find someone who gets you in Akiba. It’s a place where nearly anything is possible, where you can bare your body and soul to the world.

In Akiba, which crams anime, games, maids, idols, secondhand parts, and cheap gourmet food into one neighborhood, battles are breaking out against the “Bagurimono,” and an unyielding “boy meets girl” story begins!

Akiba’s Trip – The Animation is based on the Akiba’s Trip video game franchise. The first game in the series was a Japan exclusive, which Acquire released on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PSP systems in 2011. An updated version of the game, titled Akiba’s Trip Plus, hit Japanese retailers in 2013. The sequel, Akiba’s Trip 2, was released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita in November 2013. A PlayStation 4 version hit stores seven months later, in July 2014

XSeed released  Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed in 2014. They released a PC version of the game in May 2015. NIS America handled the European release of the game.

Several character designs and a promotional video were released to promote Akiba’s Trip – The Animation. You can check these out below:
