Tubi TV Starts Streaming Geneshaft Anime

Oh my god, it’s my favorite anime, ever! Everyone needs to watch this incoherent, brain meltingly unintelligible mess of a show!

Editor’s note: Do not. I repeat DO NOT watch Geneshaft. Ever.

Earlier today, streaming service Tubi TV started streaming Geneshaft on their digital platform. All 13 episodes of this series are available in subtitled format.

Geneshaft is an original series from Satelight and Studio Gazelle. Kazuki Akane (Vision of Escaflowne, Birdy the Mighty: Decode) directed this trainwreck, which features character designs by Yasuhiro Oshima (Geobreeders, Mobile Suit SD Gundam Mk IV). Eiji Inomoto (Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) was in charge of CGI designs.

Geneshaft aired in the Spring 2001 broadcast season. Bandai Entertainment released this soul-crushing horror of sci-fi on DVD in North America. They descried the series as:

In a final attempt to save the human race, a genetic engineering program was initiated in hopes of creating a new breed of human beings with special skills and abilities to benefit all of society. Successful, the Earth begins to enjoy a new era of peace… until the appearance of a mysterious artifact of unknown origin between the Earth and the moon.

A group of enhanced humans have been selected to investigate the orbiting visitor. Armed with a prototype ship known only as “Shaft,” this strike team may be the only thing between continued peace and the total destruction of the Earth!
