Gosick adapts Kazuki Sakuraba’s mystery novel series of the same name. The title, which aired during the Winter 2011 broadcast season, was directed by Hitoshi Nanba (Fate/Grand Order: First Order, Heroman) at studio Bones. The team of Takashi Tomioka and Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf’s Rain) provided character designs for the project, while Mari Okada (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) took charge of series composition.

Bandai Entertainment originally revealed that they acquired the rights to Gosick in July 2011. The series never hit home video, sadly, as Bandai discontinued all new releases the following January. Funimation revealed that the licensed the show yesterday. They describe Gosick as:

In this 1920s tale of dark intrigue and romance, Japanese exchange student Kazuya Kujo strikes up a fast but uneasy friendship with the doll–like genius Victorique. Both outcasts, Victorique and Kujo explore the unsolved mysteries at their school. As they begin taking on more cases, a sinister plot begins to unfold in the shadows around them.
