Today’s news article is brought to you by the letter L, for “lewd.” (Kidding!)
Earlier today, the official Eromanga Sensei anime website updated with a pair of promo videos, a visual, and the show’s broadcast schedule. We break the details down below:
The 110-second teaser trailer offers a brief overview of the show’s concept, which is delivered by main character Masamune Izumi. The promo uses opening themse song Hitorigoto (Soliloquy) by ClariS as a background track.
The 30-second TV spot is an abbreviated version of the promo video, which aliso uses Hitorigoto as the background music.
Eromanga Sensei‘s new visual features a low-angle shot of the main cast, apparently jumping into the air. A notification of the show’s April 8 premiere is plastered across the bottom.
Eromanga Sensei will hit Japanese TV on April 8. Tokyo MX will host the show first, at 24:30 (effectively April 9 at 12:30AM).

The Eromanga Sensei anime is based on a light novel series of the same name by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustator Hiro Kanzaki. Ryohei Takeshita will direct the series at A-1 Pictures, with Tatsuya Takahashi (And you thought there is never a girl online?, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn) writing the scripts.
In March 2016, it was announced that Shinichiro Kashiwada (Oreimo 2, Sword Art Online) will serve as producer, and that Aniplex is in charge of overall production.
The confirmed voice cast includes:
- Sagiri Izumi: Akane Fujita
- Masamune Izumi: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
- Megumi Jinno: Ibuki Kido
- Elf Yamada: Minami Takahashi
- Muramasa Senju: Saori Onishi
- Tomoe Takasago: Yui Ishikawa
Earlier this month, series director Ryohei Takeshita took to Twitter to reveal that the staff is recruiting an animation director and key animators for the show.
The Eromanga Sensei light novels kicked off in December 2013 under Kadokawa’s light novel imprint. The series revolves around Masamune Izumi, a light novel author who’s still in high school. Masamune’s sister Sagiri is a shut-in of the highest degree, to the point that she hasn’t left her room in a full year. The situation progresed as far as to force her brother to deliver meals when she stomps on the floor. Masamune, though, would like nothing more than to see his sister rejoin the outside world, as the two have no other family.
Fushimi and Kanzaki previously collaborated on the OreImo light novel series, which received an anime adaptation in 2010.
Several character visuals were released to promote the Eromanga Sensei anime, which you can check out below:
