Earlier today, studio Bones announced that they’re producing a new Eureka Seven anime film trilogy. The new trilogy, titled Kōkyōshihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution (Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution), will see its first film open this year. The second and third entries will open in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Bones published a teaser trailer, which you can check out below.
The teaser features a new song by German electronic duo Hardfloor, titled Acperience 7 as a background track. The teaser will begin running in Japanese theaters tomorrow.
In addition to the teaser, three character visuals and a teaser visual were unveiled.

Several members of the original Eureka Seven anime staff are returning to work on the films, including chief director Tomoki Kyoda (RaXephon OVA, Halo Legends: Prototype). Character designer Kenichi Yoshida (Gundam Reconguista in G: From the Past to the Future, Overman King Gainer), mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori (Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Outlaw Star), and writer Dai Sato (Freedom, Mysterious Joker) are also returning.

The film will be set a full decade before the original Eureka Seven anime series, during the First Summer of Love phenomenon. The films will follow the same base storyline as the original show, though the ending will be different. New scenes, fully redone footage, and a full re-recording are in the cards for the project.
