Funimation Streams Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu Dub Teaser

With one small scene, Christina reminds us that we are all Houin Kyouma.

Earlier today, Funimation started streaming a new dub teaser for Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu (Steins;Gate Fuka Ryōiki no Déjà vu). The 80-second teaser features a (comparatively) light-hearted moment, which sees Makise Kurisu imitating Okabe Rintaro’s Hououin Kyouma persona… much to her friends’ chagrin.

Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu will hit North American DVD and Blu-Ray on March 28.

Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu originally hit Japanese theaters in April 2013. The feature reunited the original TV show’s cast and crew for an original story. Kanji Wakabayashi (Kai Doh Maru) directed the feature at White Fox, with chief directors Hiroshi Hamasaki and Takuya Satō. Kyuta Sakai (When They Cry – Higurashi, Selector Infected Wixoss) provided character designs, while Jukki Hanada (Love Live!, Robotics;Notes) wrote the screenplay.

Funimation originally announced that they acquired the film in 2014. The movie is set after the TV series’ “true end.”

The confirmed dub cast includes:

  • Rintaro Okabe: J. Michael Tatum
  • Kurisu Makise: Trina Nishimura
  • Nae Tennoji: Brina Palencia
  • Suzuha Amane: Cherami Leigh
  • Yugo “Braun” Tennoji: Christopher R. Sabat
  • Mayuri Shiina: Jackie Ross
  • Faris Nyannyan: Jad Saxton
  • Moeka Kiryu: Jessica Cavanagh
  • Ruka Urushibara: Lindsay Seidel
  • Itaru “Daru” Hashida: Tyson Rinehart

Funimation describes the film as:

A year has passed since Okabe reached the Steins Gate world-line when Kurisu visits her friends at the Future Gadget Lab. But something’s not quite right—strong emotions blur the world-lines and trigger déjà vu. Before she knows it, Okabe disappears. Hoping to save the mad scientist who tried countless times to save her, Kurisu must make a decision—risk everything, or live in a world without Okabe.
