First Gamers! Anime Visual Hits the Web, July 2017 Premiere Revealed

The gamers are ready to meet the world. Well, almost. In a minute. Once they reach the next checkpoint.

Earlier today, the official Gamers! anime website opened its doors. The site features a key visual, which features the five lead characters.

A flyer at AnimeJapan confirms that the series will begin airing this July, and will run for 12 episodes.

Gamers! will be based on Sekina Aoi and illustrator Saboten’s light novel series of the same name. Manabu Okamoto will direct the show at studio Pine Jam, with Tensho Sato providing character designs. Hiroki Uchida is in charge of series composition.

Gamers! began publication in 2014 under Fujimi Shobo’s “Fujimi Fantasia Bunko” imprint. The title spans seven volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on March 18. The title inspired a four-panel manga series by Aoi and illustrator Yamucha, which currently runs in Dragon Magazine.

Gamers! is a romantic comedy, which revolves around the lives of various high school students who play video games. The cast includes:

  • Keita Amano: A lonely gamer
  • Chiaki Hoshinomori: A girl who constantly fights with Keita
  • Karen Tendo: A beautiful young lady who’s also president of her school’s video gaming club.
  • Tasuku Uehara: A student who puts on a façade of a satisfied life, though he secretly drowns his life in video games.
