Mike Ferreira: Good evening, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club. this week, we have a two-person panel with myself and Anthony Simpson leading the discussion
Anthony Simpson: Evening
Mike Ferreira: Tonight, we’re continuing our discussion with Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. This week, it’s Episode 11: New Year, New Kotatsu.
Anthony Simpson: Lots of laziness, then holy jesus my heart nearly exploding from the cuteness that is Kanna in a kimono.
Mike Ferreira: Oh god yeah. that was just adorable.
Anthony Simpson: I nearly died from cute overload.
Mike Ferreira: No dying before Forehead Girl. She seems to be at her cute capacity.
Anthony Simpson: she was having her moe overload again.
Mike Ferreira: Definitely. I swear, she’s going to end this series with a gigantic nosebleed or something.
Mike Ferreira: There were some great comedic moments this time around, especially with the doorbell ringing every time Tohru got comfortable. I mean, come on – we’ve all been there.
Anthony Simpson: Yea, that was VERY relatable.
Mike Ferreira: Was good to see the neighbors come back, too.
Anthony Simpson: I missed them. Sadly no crazy noises from the lady cooking.
Anthony Simpson: Maybe the noise had something do with those chestnuts in the past.
Mike Ferreira: That made me sad. That whole segment with the noises cracked me up
Mike Ferreira: Possibly. Reaping the souls of their chestnut ancestors or something.
Anthony Simpson: Yea.
Anthony Simpson: I felt bad for poor Shouta. He can’t escape Lucoa evening in his dreams.
Mike Ferreira: I know. She just haunts him now. She *is* a demon.
Anthony Simpson: I felt bad for Fafnir he made a sequel to a book no one bought and this one didn’t sell either.
Mike Ferreira: I know, really. Poor guy.
Mike Ferreira: Gotta give him credit for trying, though
Anthony Simpson: He did try again, even if it ended up in total failure.
Mike Ferreira: Definitely.
Mike Ferreira: It’s the mimics all over again
Anthony Simpson: I have to give it to Torhu. She went all out for New Years.
Mike Ferreira: Oh definitely. Pounding mochi and making homemade soba are no joke, and that last-minute party was just beyond what most people would do
Anthony Simpson: I’m not really a party person myself so I wouldn’t never do anything like that myself.
Mike Ferreira: Something tells me Kobayashi normally wouldn’t be, either.
Mike Ferreira: Gonna be sad to see this one end in two weeks.
Anthony Simpson: Kobayashi and me would likely do the same thing, just lounge around until you have to starting working again.
Mike Ferreira: Damn straight.
Mike Ferreira: I’m an avid Staycationer – and something tells me I’d be content to just sit back and play Zelda for five days.
Anthony Simpson: I’ve enjoyed this show since the beginning. This show and Interview with Monster Girls were my favorites of the season.
Mike Ferreira: Hm… I’m torn between Gabriel Dropout and Interviews With Monster Girls being my #2. Both were very strong, very well-done shows
Mike Ferreira: I have to give the edge to Gabriel Dropout, though, because it has Vigne. She’s just a delightful character
Anthony Simpson: I didn’t see Gabrield Dropout so I can’t attest to its quality.
Mike Ferreira: I recommend it. it’s just a fun, well-written comedy
Anthony Simpson: Maybe I will get to it when I’m on leave next month.
Mike Ferreira: If so, let me know how you like it.
Mike Ferreira: Hm.. any final thoughts on this week’s episode?
Anthony Simpson: It was an enjoyable episode.
Mike Ferreira: Definitely… and it felt like we’re close to that very real wrap-up in two weeks.
Mike Ferreira: Anyway, thanks for joining us, and have a great night!
Anthony Simpson: Have a great night.
