“Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND” Shows Off Leads In New Visual


Brace yourselves, folks. We’re heading back to the battlefront.

Earlier today, the official Blood Blockade Battlefront anime website updated with a new visual for Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND (Kekkai Sensen & Beyond). The new image shows off the major characters against a white background:

Blood Blockade Battlefront & BEYOND is a sequel to 2015’s Blood Blockade Battlefront. Shigehito Takayanagi (The World God Only Knows, Dagashi Kashi) is directing the show at Bones, with Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop, Noragami) pulling double duty as character designer and chief animation director. Yasuko Kamo (Dagashi Kashi) is in charge of series composition.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Leonardo Watch: Daisuke Sakaguchi
  • Klaus Von Reinhertz: Rikiya Koyama
  • K.K.: Ai Orikasa
  • Gilbert F. Altstein: Banjou Ginga
  • Zed O’Brien: Hikaru Midorikawa
  • Zapp Renfro: Kazuya Nakai
  • Steven A. Starphase: Mitsuru Miyamoto
  • Chain Sumeragi: Yu Kobayashi
  • Sonic Speed Monkey: Yuma Uchida

The series will hit Japanese TV in October. Funimation currently holds the domestic rights to the first season of Blood Blockade Battlefront, which they describe as:

A breach between Earth and the netherworld opens under New York, trapping New Yorkers and interdimensional creatures in a bubble.
