The world’s greatest thief is about to steal a time slot in the weekly Toonami lineup!
Earlier today, TMS Entertainment USA and Adult Swim announced that Lupin The 3rd – Part 4 will première on Adult Swim’s Toonami block next month. The series will air on June 17, at 1:30AM.
Lupin the 3rd – Part 4 is the first mainline entry into the Lupin anime franchise in thirty years. While Lupin and company did appear in numerous films and spinoffs like 2012’s Lupin The Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, this is the first actual Lupin TV series since the second title ended on September 28, 1985.
Discotek Media currently holds the domestic rights to the title.
A dub is being produced for Lupin the 3rd – Part 4. Richard Epcar, who played Daisuke Jigen in Lupin III Part II, will return to co-direct the dub with Ellyn Stern. Returning cast members include:
- Lupin: Tony Oliver
- Jigen: Richard Epcar
- Fujiko: Michelle Ruff
- Goemon: Lex Lang
TMS describes the show as:
LUPIN THE 3rd Part 4 (26 x 30-minute episodes) is the latest series with Lupin trying to outmaneuver MI-6 throughout Italy! The story that began in San Marino will now expand all over Italy as Lupin pursues love and freedom in this exciting new adventure. While Lupin deals with a motley crew of unique characters that come his way, an extraordinary genius that lived centuries ago steps out of history into his life.
