Now, it’s time to hear Asta’s story.

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine features a new visual for the upcoming Black Clover anime series. The image features Asta and Yuno against a black background.

The visual also features a list of major crew members attached to the project. Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Long Riders!) will direct the project at Studio Pierrot, with Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Blue Drop) serving as character designer. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Monster Musume, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) is in charge of series composition for the project.
Other confirmed crew members include:

  • Sub-Character Designer: Kumiko Tokunaga
  • Music: Minako Seki

Yūki Tabata’s Black Clover manga began publication in Shonen Jump magazine in February 2015. To date, eleven volumes have been released, with the most recent hitting stores on May 2.

Viz Media currently holds the domestic rights to the Black Clover manga. They describe the series as:

Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem–he can’t use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can’t use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing’s for sure–Asta will never give up!
