It’s time to meet the folks who will bring Aoyama-kun’s world to life!
The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine (Issue 28) revealed the major cast list for the upcoming Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun (Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun). The series will star the following:
- Aoyama-kun: Ryotaro Okiayu
- Kaoru Zaizen: Tomokazu Seki
- Moka Gotō: Anzu Haruno
Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun will première on Tokyo MX on July 2 at 24:00 (7/3/2017 at midnight). The show will air later on BS11 and Yomiuri TV.
Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun is based on Taku Sakamoto’s manga series of the same name. Kazuya Ichikawa (Monster Strike the Animation, Shadow Skill 3 will direct the series at Studio Hibari, with Midori Gotou (Attack on Titan: Junior High, Hozuki’s Coolheadedness) taking charge of series composition. Arisa Matsuura will produce the character designs.
Pony Canyon is providing the soundtrack, while TMS Entertainment produces.
The Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun manga kicked off in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2014. To date, seven volumes have been produced, with the most recent hitting stores on February 17.
Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun is a comedy, which reolves around handsome soccer player Aoyama. Though he’s a skilled player, Aoyama doesn’t tackle, nor does he head the ball – rather. If there’s a throw-in, he’ll only do it while wearing gloves. Aoyama’s a clean player, which can get in the way of his performance on the field. And, as expected, hilarity ensues.
