It’s been a long, hard fight, but finally, Kyoko’s Revenge™ is about to be unleashed upon the world.
Yesterday, Pied Piper, Inc. announced that their upcoming Skip Beat! Blu-Ray release has cleared the QC process. In a backers-only Kickstarter update, Pied Piper revealed that their DVD/Blu-Ray manufacturer has “tentatively committed to shipping the products to the [Right Stuf] warehouse by July 28th,” and that initial shipments should reach backers in August.
Additional items, including the “Jackets, t-shirts, and most of the Swag Set (all items except for the bookmarks)” are already manufactured and ready-to-ship at Right Stuf’s warehouse.

Skip Beat! is based on Yoshiki Nakamura’s manga of the same name. The 25-episode series originally hit Japanese TV in the Fall 2008 broadcast season. Kiyoko Sayama (Princess Tutu, Vampire Knight) helmed the project at Hal Film Maker, with Tetsuya Kumagai (Log Horizon Season 2, Slayers Premium) providing character designs. Mayori Sekijima (Saber Marionette J, CLAMP School Detectives) was in charge of series composition, while Akifumi Tada (Tokyo Underground, Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki) scored the soundtrack.

In October, Pied Piper revealed that the show’s openings and insert songs will receive English adaptations:
- Dream Star (OP, Episodes 1-19)
- Renaissance (OP, Episodes 20-25)
- Burnin’ Down (Insert Song, Episode 11)
- Prisoner (Insert Song, Episode 19)
Two months later, in December, the team reported that they would also produce English versions of the show’s ending themes Namida and Eien.

Dan Antunovich will produce Dream Star, Renaissance, Namida, and Eien. Nathan Sharp will be the producer on Burnin’ Down and Prisoner. Mela Lee and the dub team collaborated on the lyric rewrites, which were approved by TV Tokyo’s music division.
In December, Pied Piper published a 60-second dub teaser for Skip Beat!, which shows off Caitlin Glass’s performance as Kyoko, and offers a preview of the English version of Dream Star:
