Amazon Prime To Exclusively Stream Animeism Shows Worldwide

Amazon’s anime efforts are getting a bit more aggressive.

Earlier today, Amazon announced that they acquired the exclusive global streaming rights to titles that air on the Animeism Programming block. Amazon will stream shows to over 200 countries across the globe via their Amazon Prime Video service.

In particular, this includes upcoming summer show Altair: A Record of Battles (Shōkoku no Altair). Amazon will continue to stream Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul, which kicked off in April.

Other titles in Amazon’s simulcast lineup for Summer 2017 include:

The Animeism block is a late-night anime block on TBS, MBS, and BS-TBS that kicked off in 2006. The slot debuted with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and went on to host many fan favorites. Animeism highlights include Kill la Kill, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Darker than Black, and Macross Frontier.

In the spring anime season, the Animeism block ran Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul and Berserk.

This is the latest exclusive content deal from Amazon. In March 2016, Amazon and Fuji TV announced signed an exclusive distribution agreement. Amazon’s Prime Video service became the exclusive streaming home for shows on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block.
